No Bonus AGAIN!!
Better think ahead. Elections this year? Remember the lesson of 2008, no bonus that year too. Come to think of it, already 4 years without bonus. NUBE asking for backdated bonuses, Govt wanting to create high income society, cost of living surging ahead .... Start with your own staff, give them higher salary first, or at least a bonus. Not hand-outs of RM1K every year. 13 years prior to last salary adjustment, already 8 years ago. Small neighbour adjusted salary just after 7 years. Compare with people ahead of us, not the ones lagging behind!

Morally Wrong...
"In difficult times, it is morally wrong to request for bonus..." then is it morally right to charge 500 bucks for a plastic chair, or 12k for parliament to charge for a touch screen computer?
Bonus to finance children's clothing for the new year, school uniforms.. We are talking about people whose income who are below 3k, not those earning managerial or ministerial level salaries. Try to live with these salaries and then u tell us whether or not u will request for a year-end bonus.
Which is "morally wrong and which is morally right"?

NO BONUS???
Dark days are ahead as the Budget 2010 announced by the PM does not include bonus. What I see, a layman's view of the budget, is that it benefits the people in the business circles, higher income bracket. People below or near poverty line,....tighten your belts for the long road ahead!

Guidelines For H1N1
Safety of the children in school is the utmost and ultimate responsibility entrusted by parents to the teachers and administrators in school. But they have a guideline to follow... To put it in another way, they are actually puppets waiting for the strings to be pulled. When they don't follow guidelines, they are deemed "engkar perintah". When they follow them, people will tell them that even a monkey will know what to do when people under your care are even under the slightest danger. Their animal instinct will tell them to protect their young at all cost. Are we, being higher level than animals, realise this? Let's hope the people drafting the guidelines are aware of our concern. Better still, if they don't close the schools where some of the students are affected by the virus, transfer these guideline makers' children there and see what happens. Will they make their children go to school?

An Addition to the H1N1 Statistics
Sad news rude woke me up from my sleep at 3.30 this morning. Tey's son succumbed to the H1N1 illness to be Malaysia's 12th Influenza A victim.
He called me 3.20 a.m., but i didn't answer only to wake up suddenly 10 minutes later to find a missed call and a message from another friend, Nazarudin, to inform me of Tey's only son's passing.
I returned his call at 3.45 a.m. Tey politely apologised for disturbing me and told me that his son has already gone to another place at 2.45 a.m. I choked to assure him it was perfectly alright and asked him to take care.
A wake will be held at the Hainanese Association Batu Pahat and Tey Jr. will be cremated tomorrow. RIP!
